Lack of Knowledge about right Age of orthodontic treatment

Only an Orthodontist has the training, the experience, and the treatment options to give you your best smile.“ Lack of Knowledge about right Age of orthodontic treatment Is There a Benefit to Early Treatment? Timing is everything – even when it comes to your child’s orthodontic treatment. “Early” treatment, also called “interceptive” treatment, means treatment that is performed while some baby teeth are still present. The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that your child’s first check-up with an orthodontist be performed when an orthodontic problem is first recognized, but no later than age 7. Why age 7? By then, your child has enough permanent teeth for an orthodontist to evaluate the developing teeth and the jaws, which in turn can provide a wealth of information. There are generally three outcomes of an initial check-up: 1. No treatment is expected to be necessary.2. Treatment may be needed in the future, so the child will be followed per ...

5 Points to remember when you go for Root Canal Treatment

1.See an Endodontist:Always search for specialty of the doctor. An Endodontist is highly trained with years of practice doing perfect root canal treatment everyday because the success rate of a well done root canal treatment is 95-98%. Re-treatment has low success rate. So try to get the best done in first time only. 2.Hopeless tooth is not a useless toothDon’t go for extraction straight away! The sensation which is felt while eating with original tooth is lost after losing the tooth and its attachment apparatus, the periodontium. 3. Ask your dentist for rubber damRubber dam, designed in the United States in 1864 is a thin, 6-inch (150 mm) square sheet, usually latex or nitrile, used in dentistry to isolate the operative site from the rest of the mouth. Placing a dam helps to ensure that contaminates from the mouth (saliva, debris, bacteria) aren’t allowed to enter the tooth as the dentist proceeds with this work. 4.How many sittings are requiredIt depends on the condition of ...

Want to have your whitest and brightest smile!

As we get older, our teeth naturally change color, losing some of their whiteness. Those of us who indulge in staining foods and drinks might find that our teeth are stained because of our lifestyle. Want to brighten up your smile? Have you considered tooth whitening? Teeth whitening at Cosmetic Dentistry Center Faces N Smiles is one of the quickest and most affordable ways to look younger and more attractive. There are several different methods for whitening teeth but each uses a solution containing peroxide to remove the stains that have accumulated in the microscopic cracks in your tooth enamel. Strips, mouthwashes, and paint-on whiteners use a lower concentration of whitening agent than in-office methods, so they rarely remove all of the stains on your enamel. You are always better off having teeth whitening performed by a professional. This will protect your existing restorations and ensure the best possible results. Don’t assume that tooth whitening offered by ...

Do These 4 Things Now and Your Kids Will Thank You Later

By DR. Pankaj pupneja As a doctor, I see a lot of people who are living with chronic conditions that are a result, at least in part, to an unhealthy lifestyle. So, my patients and I focus a lot of our effort on changing behaviors and making healthier choices. As we all know, changing behavior is really hard work – and made all the harder because a lot of the unhealthy behaviors that play a part in the development of chronic conditions start in childhood. By the time an adult is in my office, we’re usually working to change behaviors that come from a lifetime’s worth of habits. Seeing my patients work so hard to change bad habits is a powerful reminder to me, as a parent, of how important it is for me to help my two children create healthy habits. What they’re learning now can go a long way to protect them from health problems when they grow up.There are 4 healthy habits that I want to encourage in my kids now (and adopt myself), to help prevent health problems in th ...

How To Choose Toothbrush And Toothpaste

Want to know how to pick right toothpaste and toothbrush? Choosing effective toothpaste from 50 odd toothpastes on the supermarket shelves is so confusing. Minty fresh, whitening, tartar control there are various kind of toothpaste available in the market but none of them accomplish the task equally. The purpose of a toothbrush is to remove food particles and plaque from the teeth and gums. In order to do this, the toothbrush needs to be able to get into hard to reach places. This means that a toothbrush with a smaller head is almost always more effective. Head size has nothing to do with the person’s age or gender, nor does it have anything to do with the size of the mouth. Choosing a toothbrush with a smaller head will allow the brusher to reach every corner of the mouth, and contrary to popular belief, a brush with softer bristles will actually be more effective. Toothbrushes are generally labeled according to size and bristle softness, so choosing a toothbrush should be as sim ...
